Monday marks the start of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, a four-day event where Vice President Kamala Harris will accept her party’s nomination for president.
President Joe Biden will give the keynote address on Monday, with remarks from Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, United Autoworkers president Shawn Fain and many others also expected.
Harris stepped into the race after Biden stepped out on July 21, weeks after a disappointing debate performance that fueled concern among Democrats about the president’s chances of reelection.
